SHEPHERDSTOWN ROTARY CLUB INDUCTS TWO NEW MEMBERS
The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown has inducted Jim Grenfell and Gwen Hoebeke as new members.
Grenfell and his wife Rosalind recently moved to Shepherdstown after he retired as Executive Director of the Wyoming Housing Network. Previously, he had served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of the Mountain West Technologies Corporation; was a partner with Tatum CFO Partners and managed his own consulting business; and managed BellSouth Corporation’s capital markets and corporate finance functions.
He has a bachelor's in Business and an MBA in Finance from Virginia Tech. While in Wyoming, he was a member of the Casper Rotary Club. He has held leadership positions with various other nonprofit organizations, including Financial Executives International, the Boy Scouts, and Volunteers of America.
Hoebeke is currently U.S. Head of Policy and Procedure for Wealth and Private Banking at HSBC Bank. She first joined HSBC as a financial crimes investigator and then managed the bank's Financial Crimes Threat Mitigation investigative team. Previously, she worked for the law firm of Miles & Stockbridge in both Baltimore and Frederick, MD, as a commercial legal paralegal.
A native of Frederick County, MD, Hoebeke attended Frostburg State University. She and her husband Jeff have lived in Shepherdstown since 2020.
The Shepherdstown Rotary Club comprises two groups of members: a morning group that meets weekly on Tuesdays, and an evening group that meets bi-weekly on Wednesdays. Both groups meet at Shepherdstown's Bavarian Inn.
Grenfell has joined the morning group, and he was inducted at the group's August 16 meeting. An accompanying photo shows him, center, with Club Vice President Jim King, left, and Club President, Sean Murtagh, right.
