SHEPHERDSTOWN ROTARY CLUB INDUCTS NEW MEMBER
The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown has inducted Glenn Gargan as a new member.
The induction ceremony was held at the Club's November 8 morning meeting at the Bavarian Inn.

Gargan received undergraduate degrees in finance and accounting (with a major in economics) from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. After graduation, he joined the Entrepreneurial Services and High Technology Group of the Arthur Young accounting firm and then (after consolidation) Ernst & Young, where he was a member of the IPO teams of America Online and Orbital Sciences, as well as a private placement for Starbucks, and he was heavily involved in the firm’s venture capital activities. He then followed a client from public accounting into the construction industry, where he was a CFO for more than a decade.
Before coming to Shepherdstown, Gargan served as the volunteer president of the Montgomery Village (MD) Foundation, a nonprofit organization that managed an $8 million budget on behalf of more than 45,000 Village residents. He is a past member of the Advisory Board and Alumni Chapter Board of the Smith School of Business and has also chaired the School's Graduate Mentor program. He is also involved with the Project Management Institute as a certified Project Management Professional and the Construction Financial Management Association as a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, He is a former member of the National Speakers Association and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
Gargan and his wife, Lynda, began relocating to Shepherdstown in 2019. They are currently building a home in Cress Creek.
The Shepherdstown Rotary Club comprises two groups of members: a morning group that meets weekly on Tuesdays, and an evening group that meets bi-weekly on Wednesdays. Both groups meet at Shepherdstown's Bavarian Inn. Gargan has joined the morning group.
