A great presentation was given to the Rotary Club of Shepherdstown yesterday by Sean Godsey and Teresa Collins of the Eastern Panhandle Mountain Bike Association which promotes healthy lifestyles for youth through its mountain biking activities and competitions.
The team welcomes 6-12th grade student-athletes, parents and enthusiasts from the Eastern Panhandle who would like to be part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) youth mountain biking league in West Virginia. Homeschooled kids are welcome. There are 16 other teams across WV and over 25,000 student-athletes in the national league.
Their program consists of character-building & values discussions, experiential mechanical aptitude sessions, bike handling skills, short track and single track course riding for cardiovascular fitness, and racing skills development.
