Wine Tasting Dinner

The Rotary Wine Tasting fund raising event, held annually in the spring at The Bavarian Inn, is an elegant full-featured multi-course dinner featuring wines carefully chosen to compliment each course. The dinner is hosted by a sommelier who specializes in matching wines and food.  After each course, the sommelier provides a brief history of the wine as well as its characteristics.

The Bavarian Inn is an architectural landmark that overlooks the Potomac River near Shepherdstown, WV.  It is recognized nationally for its German cuisine, international wine list, and European attention to detail.

Since 2001, the proceeds from the Wine Tasting dinner have been donated to support a wide range of beneficiaries such as disaster-relief for the 2010 Haitian earthquake victims and long-term support for the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Deschapelles, the global Polio Eradication initiative sponsored by Rotary International, (Polio Plus), and college scholarship funding for the Rotaract Club and students at Shepherd University here in West Virginia.
